A sleeping woman is lucky to be alive after a car crashed into her bedroom wall in Sydney's west overnight.

Emergency services were called to Albert Street, Guildford, after a four-wheel-drive crashed into another vehicle before mounting a curb and lodging into the side of a house at about 12.30am.

Paramedics assisted the driver of the car but she was uninjured.

Peter Frangie was inside the home with his sister and their 51-year-old mother who was asleep in the room where the car came careering in.

"Her bed had been pushed out, she had been flung out, she's fine I would assume, hopefully," Mr Frangie said.

"She's getting tested now to make sure no glass had dug into her eyes when she was asleep."

Residents are shocked no one was seriously injured in the crash.

"It sounded like a semi-trailer, it was the loudest sound I've heard in a long time, it was pretty crazy," a resident told 9News.
