Car perched on scaffolding after crashing into construction site in Burwood East, Melbourne

A woman has escaped unharmed after her car crashed through a temporary fence and into a construction site in Melbourne's east.

The sedan left the road near the intersection of the Burwood Highway and Middleborough Road, and came to a rest while perched on top of scaffolding two stories high.

The driver, a woman in her 40s, was able to leave the car and walk to safety. 

There are no reports of any other injuries, with no one at the construction site today. 

Emergency services are now working to remove the car from the work site.
