Man critical after car and caravan rolls, is swept into flood waters

A man aged in his 70s is in a critical condition after his car and caravan rolled and ended up in flood waters.

Swift water rescue crews rushed to assist the man after the accident on the Bruce Highway near Six Mile Creek in Queensland.

It is unknown whether there were more people in the car at the time.

The Bruce Highway northbound is expected to remain closed for several hours with diversions in place at Caboolture via the D’Agular Highway.

Wet weather is wreaking havoc in south-east Queensland this morning with a number of roads under water at Logan and on the Gold Coast.

A tree fell at a high school in Logan, south of Brisbane, and has left six students with minor injuries.
