Perth cafe owner fined $15k over cannabis brownies sold to family
A Perth cafe owner has been fined $15,000 after serving brownies laced with cannabis to a mother and her two children.
Nathan Sharp, who owns the Bada Bing Cafe in Woodlands, was charged with two offences under the Food Act 2008 of selling "unsuitable" food on March 2 and 3 in 2019.
He had sold chocolate brownies containing cannabis to a mother and her young children, leading them to suffer hallucinations.

The children's father did not eat the brownie but returned the next day and bought one.
He brought it to a lab for testing, where results showed traces of cannabis.
Mr Sharp claimed he had nothing to do with making the brownies, but did concede he had made some hash brownies at home, months beforehand.
The magistrate said he was neither honest, reliable, nor credible.

Mr Sharp spoke briefly outside court.
"We'd like to thank family, friends and customers for all their love and support, and we will be appealing this decision," he said.
Mr Sharp was also ordered to pay $25,000 in court costs.
