Canadian teenager gets the ultimate surprise while performing Ed Sheeran song at fundraising event

British popstar Ed Sheeran has surprised a young fan by joining her on stage at a shopping centre for an impromptu duet in Alberta, Canada.

Sydney Bourbeau, 13, was singing Sheeran’s hit song ‘Thinking Out Loud’ for her school’s event raising funds for the Edmonton Humane Society, when the star casually walked out of a nearby shop on to the stage to join her.

He gave her a hug and joined her in her performance.

The young fan said she could not believe her eyes when she saw her idol was standing next to her.

“I was like, should I stop? I didn’t want to stop, but I wanted to talk to him,” she said.

“This is, like, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Sydney later uploaded a video of the meeting to her YouTube page.

“This was the best moment of my life. Thanks to Ed for making this happen,” she wrote.
