Business as usual in Maloney household ahead of Roosters Rabbitohs final

There was no sleep in for Roosters star James Maloney this morning ahead of the Roosters and Rabbitohs preliminary final tonight.

Game day in the Maloney household starts just like any other, with packed lunches and a trip to daycare.

It is hardly the rockstar lifestyle of a famous footballer, but Maloney says it’s the perfect way to prepare for the intensity of finals football.

“Once you get around the boys and start focusing on the game then this goes on the back burner, but it’s nice to get up in the morning and just not think about it, relax, just do the normal things and they put a smile on my face,” Maloney said.

The winner from tonight’s game secure a spot in the Grand Final.

Jamie Soward will captain Penrith against the Bulldogs tomorrow night, but today was spotted jewellery shopping with wife Emma.

On Monday night the couple will hit the red carpet at the Dally M annual NRL player awards.
