Bulldogs could be docked points thanks to feral fans

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs could face the ultimate sanction after the ugly end to Friday's clash with the Rabbitohs, with NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg reportedly admitting the club could be docked competition points.

Bulldogs fans and players alike blew up at the controversial ending to the match, which saw captain James Graham penalised and handed South Sydney a last-minute win off the back of a penalty goal.

Graham exploded at the referee, swearing and refusing to back down.

His on-field aggression was mirrored by fans in the stands, who threw bottles at officials as they exited the field.

Those fans found guilty of doing so face life bans from the NRL, while two other men were arrested for assault.

Greenberg, former head of the Canterbury-Bankstown club, said penalties would be applied where needed and the option of docking the club competition points was on the table, Fairfax Media reported.

Graham and young Bulldogs forward David Klemmer are also likely to face punishment following their verbal aggression towards officials.

Englishman Graham, rated one of the competition's best as well as its most hot-tempered props, is no stranger to the judiciary.

He was suspended for 12 matches after appearing to bite the ear of Melbourne Storm fullback Billy Slater in the 2012 Grand Final, which the Storm won.
