Money will be set aside in the mid-year federal budget update for controversial plans to move the government's pesticides agency to Nationals' leader Barnaby Joyce's electorate.

The update will earmark $25.6 million out to 2020/21 to relocate the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority from Canberra to Armidale.

Mr Joyce has also confirmed the budget will include ongoing funding for the Murray-Darling Basin Authority and $30.9 million for a new biosecurity information system.
