Man charged with murder after woman's death on Christmas Day in WA

A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman died on Christmas Day in Broome, Western Australia.

The 34-year-old woman, who was known to the man, was found with serious head injuries at a home on Roe Place in Cable Beach about 6pm.

She was provided medical attention at the scene and rushed to hospital but later died.

The man was assisting the Homicide Squad with inquiries.

Following an investigation into the incident, he was charged on Wednesday.

He is due to appear in Broome Magistrates Court tomorrow.
