Bronwyn Bishop criticised for recontesting

Senior Liberal figures have taken a swipe at former Speaker Bronwyn Bishop's decision to recontest her seat of Mackellar at the next federal election.
"You'll probably have to carry her out in a box," former Liberal leader John Hewson told ABC radio on Tuesday.
"She doesn't see that she's been totally discredited."

Mr Hewson and former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett said Mrs Bishop had discredited herself after last year's expenses scandal, when it was revealed she took a $5000 helicopter ride from Melbourne to Geelong to attend a Liberal fundraiser.
Mr Kennett said the hourglass had run out.
"She brought great discredit to herself," he said.
"She brought great discredit to her government."
