Brisbane to get new entertainment arena in CBD
Brisbane is set to receive a $2 billion arena and entertainment precinct in the CBD, but the deputy premier says it won’t be funded by the state government.
The plan includes a 17,000-seat arena which will act world-class entertainment venue complete with cinemas and restaurants. It would be built above the Roma Street rail yards.
In fact, Jackie Trad says the government would be hoping the Brisbane Live precinct, proposed for the Roma Street rail yards, would help pay for the government's priority infrastructure project - Cross River Rail

“It would be great to have a live venue in the heart of the city, as opposed to in the outer suburbs,” Ms Trad said earlier today.
The entertainment and park precinct would be modelled on the L.A. Live Centre which hosts restaurants, hotels and the Grammy Museum.
