Brisbane storm bill tops $145.9m

The clean-up bill from Brisbane's late-week storms has topped $145.9 million.

Hundreds of streets have been affected by the weather event, with 97 tonnes of green waste collected already - the equivalent of 24 elephants.

"People are just starting to find out really what damage has been caused," Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said.

Electricity has been fully restored across Brisbane, but the SES is still working.

Over 21,000 insurance claims have been filed across Brisbane.

People with leaky roofs are being attended too, but it could be weeks before people will broken windows have the damage repaired.
