Brisbane's 'Bonnie and Clyde' carjacking couple nabbed after allegedly stealing cupcakes

A Queensland couple dubbed "Bonnie and Clyde" over a series of alleged carjackings have been arrested after they allegedly stole cupcakes from a hospital fundraiser.
The pair let themselves into a private function at Brisbane's Mater hospital yesterday, allegedly stealing some cupcakes before an off-duty police officer recognised the couple and requested assistance, Fairfax reported.
A police helicopter tracked the pair to Salisbury before they were arrested with the dog squad and fifteen patrol cars used in the search.
They have been on the run for nearly a week.
They are wanted for questioning over a series of violent carjackings over the past week, one of which almost saw a 75-year-old run down.
The 25-year-old Beenleigh man has been charged with 26 offences, including unlawfully entering motor vehicles, attempting to do so, and stealing.
The 23-year-old Alexandra Hills woman has been charged with 28 similar offences.
Both are in custody and will face Brisbane Magistrates Court later today.
