Woman charged with murder of Sydney teen 'acted as getaway driver'

The woman charged with the murder of teenager Brayden Dillon acted as a getaway driver after the teenager was shot execution-style in his bed in south-west Sydney, police say.

Sophie Massie, 30, was charged yesterday afternoon with murdering the teen at his Glenfield home about 6am on Good Friday.

"We will allege she drove the vehicle to and from Glenfield," Detective Acting Super Intendent Jason Dickinson told reporters in Sydney today.

Ms Massie did not appear at Blacktown Local Court today where her lawyer Nick Blaker did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.

Mr Blaker indicated Ms Massie might apply for bail at Campbelltown Local Court on August 28 where she is due to appear via audio-visual link.

Her 26-year-old alleged accomplice Conrad Craig, who is accused of shooting 15-year-old Dillon in the head after bursting into the family home, was refused bail when he faced the same court on Tuesday.

Earlier this week police appealed for help to identify a car seen driving away from Brayden's Glenfield home minutes after the April 14 shooting.

The white Mazda 3 was found in an underground car park at Jamistown, near Penrith, on Tuesday.

Brayden's friends and family held a get-together marking his "sweet 16th" birthday at the East Hills footbridge yesterday.

They sang Happy Birthday and released helium balloons on the bridge, which has become an unofficial meeting spot for those struggling to come to terms with the sudden death.
