Brandis cracks down further on hate speech
AAP
The Abbott government plans to make advocating genocide a crime in a further crackdown on hate speech.
The changes will be included in the next tranche of counter-terrorism legislation, to be put to parliament later in 2015, Attorney-General George Brandis writes in The Daily Telegraph on Friday.
Senator Brandis indicates the crackdown is aimed particularly at radical Islamic groups such as Hizb ut-Tahrir, which he says are threatening the liberty of Australians.
