Bracket creep 'unsustainable': Hockey
AAP
Treasurer Joe Hockey insists the government wants to do something about average Australians being forced into a higher tax bracket but he says the Senate must play ball.
It was "simply unsustainable" to continue with a position where workers could be pushed into the second highest tax bracket as their wages increased, he told reporters in Adelaide on Tuesday.
"We're going to need the agreement of constructive people in the Senate and hopefully there's a few more now than there were last year," he said.
