Young boy killed by bus outside school a talented musician

Classmates are mourning a 13-year-old boy killed by a bus north of Adelaide yesterday afternoon.

Zavier Tan was fatally struck as he crossed the road after school in Balaklava.

The gifted teenager teenager was known for his musical talent and academic efforts.

One friend's online tribute made mention of "sweet" Zavier's sense of humour.

"You always knew how to roast me," they wrote.

"Thank you for everything."

The family had only recently moved to Balaklava.

High school was also new for the young student, with Zavier just two weeks into Year Eight.

His two siblings attend the neighbouring primary school, where counselling services have also been made available.

Police have just begun their investigation, while the bus company involved, Link SA, said its "thoughts are with the family and friends of the student who died".
