Boy seriously injured in stabbing attack at Sydney unit block

A boy is in a serious condition in hospital after he was stabbed multiple times outside a unit block in Sydney’s south-west last night.

Police said they were called to reports of a fight at Wilga Street in Fairfield about 11.15pm.

They arrived to find  a boy with multiple stab wounds to his torso. Police have not specified the boy’s age, and referred to him as a “young male”.

 Paramedics took him to Liverpool Hospital.

Authorities said they “immediately went to work with lifesaving procedures and invasive therapies that saved his life”.

A 27-year-old man was arrested nearby and is helping police with their inquiries.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway.
