Bourke St victim had 'bright future ahead'

A Sydney businesswoman who was killed in Melbourne's Bourke St car rampage had a bright future ahead, her employer says.

Twenty-two-year-old Jessica Mudie worked for insurance brokers Marsh & McLennan.

"Although with us for just under a year, she had already won the admiration and friendship of those she worked with and had a bright future ahead of her," Marsh & McLennan's chief executive Scott Leney told AAP in a statement.

Colleagues across Australia will join Ms Mudie's loved ones and friends in their grief and mourning.

"We will be providing all the support we can to her family and colleagues at this sad time," Mr Leney added.

Ms Mudie was one of five people who died in last Friday's Melbourne CBD mall rampage, along with 10-year-old Thalia Hakin; a three-month-old baby; 33-year-old Matthew Si and a 25-year-old man.

More than 30 others were injured in the attack with 15 people still in hospital.
