Keep going to see all the images from the "emotional" evening, as the community reflected on the events since last Saturday.
Police officer Amy Scott, who herocially shot the attacker when he lunged at her, was hugged as she arrived for the service at Bondi Beach.
Members of the community also offered their hugs and thanks to Police Inspector Amy Scott (second left), making their way over to the local hero.
Scott (C) sat among her colleagues at Dolphin Court at Bondi Beach.
Members of the public also filled the area around Dolphin Court to pay their respects to those killed and others left injured, five of whom remain in hospital.
Candles were held during the service which was described a "sombre", "emotional" and "hard to put into words" by those in attendance.
