Bomb squad detonate suspicious device found in Melbourne car

Police have detonated a suspicious homemade device found in a car during a routine traffic stop in Melbourne.
They discovered the device about 4.30pm yesterday, and closed part of the Princess Highway at Noble Park due to safety concerns.
The bomb squad was called in and a robot was used to remove the device from the car and take it to a nearby location for detonation.

Police also found a quantity of drugs in the car.
A woman in her 20s had been driving the car and is assisting police with their inquiries.
