Body of a man found in Byron Bay home

A Christmas gathering has turned deadly after the body of a man was discovered inside a Byron Bay home.

Emergency services were called to the property at 11.30 last night to reports of a possible assault.

There they found a 28-year-old man had collapsed and couldn’t be revived.

Officers are treating the death as suspicious.

“Very early stages of our investigation at the moment so we’re just methodically going through the scene there and just trying to work out exactly what transpired on that night,” Brendon Cullen from NSW Police told 9NEWS.
