Man killed after falling off cliff in Sydney

A man's body was found at the base of a cliff in Clovelly today, with police believing he slipped and fell from a walking track above.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner after officers were called to Gordon's Bay just before 1pm.

It's believed the 53-year-old man may have been walking along a track beside a cliff face and slipped, falling 25m onto rocks below.

A police spokesman said the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

"The man's identity is still to be confirmed, however he was found wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, chequered grey shorts and a backpack," he said.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and contact Maroubra Police Station.
