Police investigate 'suspicious' deaths of two sisters in Sydney's south-west
Police are investigating the "suspicious" deaths of two sisters whose bodies were found inside a unit in Sydney's south-west.
Emergency services were called to a home on Canterbury Road near Dibbs Street in Canterbury after a concern for welfare report at 9.30am on Tuesday.
9News understands the women's bodies were discovered when an eviction warrant was served by the sheriff and landlord yesterday after their rent was overdue.

"We believe the two women are sisters aged 23 and 24 but they have not been formally identified," Detective Inspector Claudia Allcroft said.
Police said the pair were found in separate bedrooms and it's believed the bodies had been there for more than a month.
"There are no obvious signs of injury but we will know more when the post-mortem examination is conducted tomorrow," Allcroft said.
Allcroft said the deaths appear to be suspicious.
"There are no obvious signs of forced entry to the premises," Allcroft added.

A crime scene was established and the unit has been examined by specialist forensic police.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the women's deaths.
"It's a very tragic scene when we go to any deceased persons, let alone two sisters," Allcroft said.

Residents in the building were shocked to hear of the deaths.
"It's pretty shocking. You just never expect it to happen near you. I didn't know them but it's nonetheless so sad," one woman said.
"I'm just scared, I am worried, I'm trying to protect my children, I don't know what happened," another woman said.
