Former Prime Minister Bob Hawke and wife Blanche d’Alpuget have revealed they’re voting “yes” in the government’s marriage equality postal vote.

The Australian Marriage Equality campaign shared a video of the couple filling out the survey, ticking the “yes” box.

“Our campaign is delighted to have the support of one of the greatest Australian Prime Ministers,” Co-chair of Australian Marriage Equality Alex Greenwich said.

“He is a man who has always believed in a fair go and this is simply what our campaign is about.

“Every Australian should be treated equally under the law and that includes being able to marry the person they love.”

Mr Hawke, 87, joins a number of both Liberal and Labor party politicians who said they have voted “yes” in the survey, including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Bill Shorten, Christopher Pyne and Tanya Plibersek.
