Blues boppers ready to dominate Queensland in Origin opener

The new NSW Blues wrecking crew is ready to set their stamp on State of Origin as they prepare to go up against the veteran Maroons forwards.

As long-term Blues forwards including Paul Gallen, Greg Bird and Anthony Watmough near the end of their careers, the likes of James Tamou, Aaron Woods and David Klemmer know they have to step up.

The Blues have named a number of debutants, but the forwards will come under the most scrutiny in Game I next Wednesday, given the calibre of the players they are replacing.

Should the Blues win, it is unknown how many changes coach Laurie Daley will make to a victorious side for Game II.

Gallen is certain to be top of the coach’s wish list, but Daley has already shown his willingness to put form above loyalty after he dumped long-serving forward Luke Lewis for this year’s opener.
