Woman breaks silence after not guilty gang rape verdict

A young woman who accused four teenage boys of gang raping her at a party in the Blue Mountains says she is numb after they were found not guilty.

Christian Dickens, now 22, Aaron Jensen, 23, and two 21-year-old men were today acquitted of aggravated sexual assault in company.

The girl, then aged 15, alleged the men had raped her at a house party in Hazelbrook in 2012.

The woman, who cannot be identified, today told 9NEWS the not guilty verdict was still sinking in.

The woman, who had been drinking with friends, claimed the four men laughed at her during the alleged assault and said, “shut up, you love it”.

“It has affected my schooling, my emotional state, my mental state, physical … everything,” she of the alleged incident in 2012.

The jury at Sydney's Downing Centre District Court did not hear allegations the men had been part of a gang known as the “Blaxland Killers”.

Judge Leonie Flannery discharged the jury as the accused men's families applauded the verdicts.

The four co-accused smiled and hugged family members as they walked out of the dock.

Outside court, Mr Dickens said he felt relieved.

"Not guilty's great," he said.

He said it was "heartbreaking" when the jury delivered its verdicts, almost seven weeks after the Crown opened its case.

Despite the result, the woman said she is standing by her account of events, and hopes more people are encourage to speak up.

"Just make a report to police, whether you make a statement or not," she said.

"Or go to a psychologist and get some sort of help because it's really hard to do it by yourself."
