Kmart, Target pull blender from shelves after 'injuries'

A food blender has been taken off the shelves at Kmart and Target after regulators identified a safety issue that has already caused injuries.

Product Safety Australia said the portable blender came in several colours including white, green, lilac, and blue.

It is rechargeable and comes in two pieces.

"If the base of the product is immersed in water, it may self-activate without pressing the ON/OFF button," the recall notice said.

"Risk of serious injury, including laceration from the exposed blades, if the product self-activates. Injuries have occurred."

People are urged to stop using the blender at once and store it away from water, before returning it to the shop they bought it at for a full refund.
