Suspicious blaze tears through home

Police are investigating after fire destroyed a home in the seaside village of Blairgowrie, Victoria.

Emergency services were called to the Fawker Avenue property about 5.30pm yesterday.

Video obtained by 9NEWS shows flames roaring from the home’s windows, as black smoke shoots into the sky.

No one was at the residence at the time.

Detectives are yet to determine the cause of the blaze, but have said it is being treated as suspicious.

Investigations are ongoing.
