Former Speaker Bronwyn Bishop spent $4100 on a charter flight to attend a function on NSW's mid-north coast earlier this year.

The latest Finance Department parliamentary entitlement figures show Ms Bishop flew from Canberra to Port Macquarie on March 6 on a taxpayer-funded charter flight costing $4100.

She was attending the fourth annual Hastings Heroine Awards, an International Women's Day event run by the Hastings Business Women's Network.

Ms Bishop was the drawcard for the event.

"Australia's longest-serving female politician will brush shoulders with the Hastings' most inspirational businesswomen," read the promotional material.

"The Hon Bronwyn Bishop's address is highly anticipated given her position as the 29th Speaker of the House of Representatives, Liberal Party stalwart and affirmed monarchist."

Ms Bishop moved to the backbench in August following a scandal over her use of a chartered helicopter to attend a Liberal fundraiser in Victoria.
