Bishop in NY to launch human rights bid

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop is headed to New York to launch Australia's inaugural candidacy for a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Ms Bishop will meet with ambassadors and well as announce a four-year, $44 million partnership agreement with the UN Central Emergency Response Fund for global humanitarian assistance.
While in the Big Apple she will also meet the US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley to discuss US-Australian co-operation in the UN.
