Billion dollars to turn field of paddocks into Sydney's 'field of dreams'
More than a billion dollars has been allocated to the development of Sydney's "third city centre" located in Parramatta.
Development of the future aerotropolis, named Bradfield, will take place across over 100 hectares of land ahead of the Badgerys Creek airport set to begin operations in 2026.
Premier Gladys Berejikilian revealed the major investment this morning ahead of the New South Wales state budget announcement.

The government has also signed 20 memorandums of understanding with companies wanting to set up shop in what the Premier said will become the "advanced manufacturing capital of Australia".
"This is a very exciting time for the people of New South Wales," Ms Berejiklian said.
"A field of paddocks will become a field of dreams."

The region will be home to the new CSIRO headquarters, a Metro Station, the Advanced Manufacturing and Research Centre and aerospace and defence industries.
"Once the buildings are up ... this will mean thousands and thousands of jobs," Ms Berejiklian said.
"The best jobs in NSW will be here on the outskirts of Sydney."
