Big Adventure slips again in ratings

New reality series The Big Adventure is digging its own hole after slipping again in the ratings while 60 Minutes claimed the top spot on Sunday.

The Seven Network series The Big Adventure dropped two places from last Sunday to finish ninth with 597,000 viewers.

A cross between reality series Survivor and The Amazing Race, The Big Adventure is about contestants trying to earn the right to dig for a key that could win them a million dollars.

Seven can take solace in the fact it was not the only recently launched show to lose viewers.

The Nine Network's origin of Batman series, US action drama Gotham, also took a hit.

It dropped from ninth place with 626,000 viewers last week, to 14th with 527,000 on Sunday.

But Nine's reality series The Embassy, which follows the diplomats of Australia's consular team in Bangkok, has a solid loyal fan base.

The third episode of The Embassy was sixth with 833,000 viewers and one of three Nine shows in the top 10.

Network Ten squeezed two top 10 placings out of its US sitcom Modern Family.

A first run episode of Modern Family was seventh with 718,000 while a repeat episode was eighth with 631,000.
