Australian television legend Bert Newton has been taken to the emergency department of a Melbourne hospital with pneumonia complications.
Newton was taken to the Epworth Hospital last night with a lingering cough arising from the condition.
Doctors at the hospital told 9NEWS they hope a series of x-rays will be able to determine the cause of his ongoing illness.
