Bernie Sanders supporters throw cash on Hillary Clinton motorcade in Los Angeles
Bernie Sanders supporters have showered a motorcade carrying US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton with cash, as she headed towards a fundraiser hosted by Amal and George Clooney.
The cash was in response to allegations Clinton has strong ties to Wall Street.
The motorcade was heading up Fryman Canyon in Los Angeles towards the Clooneys’ home when a group carrying Bernie Sanders signs threw the dollar bills on the cars.
“When I think about the amount of money being raised at this fundraiser, the smallest ticket is $34,000 a plate,” one Sanders supporter told ABC in the US.
“Even minimum-wage workers making $15 an hour would not even hit that (in a year)”.
The Sanders supporters then attended their own fundraiser on the same street, with tickets priced at just $27 per head.
