Benji unveils his very own post-try 'drunken goanna'

Greg Inglis' goanna crawl is one of the NRL's most recognisable try celebration moves in a brilliant nod to his Indigenous heritage.

Now, Benji Marshall has unveiled his own version of the move in what can only be described as the 'drunken goanna'.

Celebrating a try during St George Illawarra's 32-16 win over Canberra on Sunday, Marshall jumped to his hands and knees after pouncing on a grubber kick and attempted to drag himself along the turf.

But rather than the fluid move Inglis has made famous – most notably in last year's grand final – Marshall looked more like a punch drunk blue tongue as he staggered and collapsed on the grass.

Whether it was a legitimate attempt to mimic GI or just an impromptu Aussie crawl we don't know, but Fox Sports commentator Andrew Voss was quick to call it the 'drunken goanna'.

Either way it earned a few laughs from fans and teammates and after a starring role for the Dragons Marshall had plenty to smile about himself.
