Beloved beagle's return to Adelaide couple after six-day ordeal

A missing beagle who sparked a six-day social media frenzy across Adelaide has been found and reunited with his overjoyed owners.

Harley's arduous journey began when he vanished from a dog groomer in Highgate last Wednesday, sparking an extensive social media campaign to locate him.

The 10-year-old's adventure took him across various locations, with sightings reported in Mellington Street, Dulwich, Sturt Gorge, and Fullarton Road, where he was spotted running across traffic.

Finally, after an anxious 150 hours, the tenacious beagle was discovered in a Hawthorn creek, prompting an emotional reunion with his grateful owners, Casey and Joe Knight.

"It's absolutely the happiest day of our lives to have found him and bring him home," Casey said.

"We could not have got him home last night without the amazing people of Adelaide helping us and all of our family.

"Safe to say we never want to go through it again so he will get an AirTag after this."

Harley had to be taken straight to the vet.

"He had scuffs on his paws, inflammation in his right shoulder, and was sore and limping when walking," vet Dr Matthew Stacy said.

His owners revealed he had previously survived being hit by a car and falling down a 25-metre cliff.

"I think he's going to be our best man at our wedding in April next year, so hopefully there are no more adventures between now and then," Joe said.
