Sydney couple's lucky escape after car rams through shop wall
A man and woman were lucky to escape serious injury after their car smashed through a shop wall in Sydney's Upper North Shore this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the shop on Hannah Street in Beecroft just after 9am.
On arrival, paramedics found the couple, both aged in their 70s, still in the car which had built up enough speed to completely clear a hole in the cinder blocks and land nose-first inside the building.

NSW Ambulance officers commended members of the public who rushed to help the couple immediately after the crash.
"It was great to see members of the community rush to assist both patients," NSW Ambulance Inspector Andrew McAlpine said.
"The way the car landed was very awkward, it was incredible both patients escaped with only minor injuries."
Multiple police and ambulance crews responded to the scene and the couple were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
