Allegedly drunk driver escapes injury after crashing into pole in Sydney
An allegedly drunk driver has escaped major injury after a car crashed into a pole in Sydney's north-west overnight.
Police were called to Beecroft Road in Beecroft about 2.45am after receiving reports a white Mitsubishi ute crashed into a utility pole.
Officers arrived to find the ute smashed, with the pole snapping off at the base.

The 40-year-old man driving the ute allegedly returned a positive roadside breath test before he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
He is receiving treatment for minor injuries and has gone mandatory testing.
Police are awaiting test results to determine whether charges will be laid.
