Barnaby Joyce jokes about the perks of being the acting PM
Barnaby Joyce has joked about the perks of being acting prime minister in a video posted on his Facebook page.
"I'm the acting prime minister," he laughs, before joking he had to buy his own breakfast.
"I went to find my cook and couldn't, so we've got quiche and coffee."
The Leader of the Nationals is acting in the top job while Malcolm Turnbull is in Europe for the G20 meeting.
"When you're really, really, really important, you go undercover... (anyway that's my excuse)," Mr Joyce wrote to complement the video.
The acting PM posted his video from the tiny town of Uralla, part of his own electorate in northern New South Wales.
"I went out this morning, I was looking for C1 (the prime minister's car) but I don't know, it must be getting washed so we have a Nissan Altima from Thrifty," Mr Joyce said.
"This is regionally-based acting prime minister cuisine and this looks like a regionally-based acting prime minister car."
The video attracted an abundance of comments, including a request for details about his quiche.
For the record, Mr Joyce said it was a "beautiful" home-cooked pumpkin and rocket quiche from Michael's Cafe in Uralla.
