Search for man who allegedly sexually assaulted boy on Melbourne street

Police are calling for help to find a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a boy on a Melbourne street in broad daylight.

The boy was walking along Carlisle Street in Balaclava about 3.45pm on Friday, February 4 when a man allegedly touched the boy's groin as they walked past each other.

The man was walking in the opposite direction to the boy and allegedly leaned over to touch the boy as they passed one another, police said.

The man police want to speak to over the alleged sexual assault. Victoria Police

Police have released images and CCTV of the man believed to be involved.

He was believed to be aged in his 40s or 50s and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a cross body bag.
