Baird is not a shoo-in: Howard

John Howard has warned Liberal Premier Mike Baird is not a "shoo-in" to win the NSW state election this weekend.
The former prime minister said he expected Mr Baird to claim victory, but stressed the need for people not to vote Labor because they believe the result was already guaranteed.
It will be a huge setback to the cause of sensible, measured economic reform in Australia if the Labor party was to accidentally win through a local protest vote, Mr Howard told Sky News on Tuesday.

"I do have a concern that there will be some people who think [given the polls] Baird's a shoo-in.
"Baird's not a shoo-in, nobody's a shoo-in, in this modern political climate," he said.
