Australian woman gives lesson in dealing with phone scammers

An Australian woman has given a telephone scammer a taste of his own medicine after he called claiming to be from Telstra.

Rather than simply hanging up on the scammer, Samantha Gear tortures the man over six minutes of hilarious listening – later sharing a recording of the conversation to YouTube.

In the clip Ms Gear, a regular recipient of scam calls, offers a series of seemingly innocent answers to his fervent line of questioning.

She has no computer, but instead has an iPad.

No credit card, but will a library card do?

"But, how is this possible ma'am?" he asks incredulously.

After the laughs, she leaves us with a word of warning: "Please educate your family and friends on these scam calls."
