Perth man charged over alleged drunken incidents in Singapore

A Perth man has reportedly been charged after allegedly abusing police and being found drunk in public during a visit to Singapore.

Jason Peter Darragh, 44, appeared in court on Saturday charged with 11 offences after allegedly engaging in drunken and abusive behaviour, Singapore-based publication The Straits Times reports.

The news publication said one dramatic scuffle believed to be Mr Darragh was filmed by witnesses at Changi Airport on April 20, and shows him swearing at authorities and ordering them not to "f---ing touch me".

Mr Darragh allegedly threatened the officers before punching one officer in the face.

Prior to police arriving, Mr Darragh allegedly threw a man’s phone on the floor and swore at him.

Mr Darragh was reportedly found drunk in public at a bar in Clarke Quay before 5am the following day after being released.

He was also allegedly found drunk in a toilet at Orchard Towers on April 26 and was taken to hospital where he is accused of verbally abusing another police officer.

Police also claim that on May 1 Mr Darragh harassed a woman at a taxi rank at Tan Tye Place near Clarke Quay.

The Straits Times reports Mr Darragh was charged with three counts of using vulgar language on police officers and two counts of using criminal force on them.

He also faces two counts of causing annoyance to others while drunk in a public place and one count each of assaulting a police officer, using abusive words on a man, committing mischief and being drunk and incapable of taking care of himself in a public place.

Mr Darragh was offered bail of $200,000 and will appear in court again on Friday.
