Australia's top judges have been given a pay rise.

As the High Court deals with the vexing issue of whether seven MPs should face the boot over their dual citizenship, the chief justice's base salary has been boosted two per cent to $584,520.

That is just over $56,000 more than the prime minister.

Other High Court judges will receive $530,440, which is also slightly above Malcolm Turnbull's pay packet.

The chief justices of the Federal Court and Family Court will receive $494,980 while the Federal Circuit Court chief justice and presidents of six federal tribunals will pocket $449,840.
