While some Australians are well organised with their Christmas shopping and have already sent packages to loved ones overseas and locally, most people are yet to get going with their holiday season deliveries.

Unfortunately, if you have gifts to send overseas, the cut off for them arriving before Christmas day was yesterday, December 17, even if you paid extra for express post.

Australia Post warns that today, December 18, is the last day to get your packages in so they arrive by Christmas day in Australia – although express post deliveries, at a higher price, will still be accepted up until December 23.

However, if your deliveries are going to a regional location, Australia Post advises you allow at least six business days for delivery.

For those yet to pay their local Australia Post a visit, some offices will be extending their trading hours until December 20.
