Foreign Minister Julie Bishop is taking a break from election campaigning to help bring peace in Syria.
Ms Bishop will take part in Australia's first International Syria Support Group meeting on Tuesday in Vienna co-chaired by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Australia wants to work with counterparts to bring an end to hostilities and improve humanitarian access to civilians in Syria, both conditions that support UN-mediated Syrian peace talks in Geneva, Ms Bishop said on Sunday.
