Aust detention staff detained on Nauru

Two Australians have been detained on Nauru and are receiving consular assistance.

The pair were working at the immigration detention centre on the island nation but the reason for their detention is unknown, Fairfax Media reported on Tuesday.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed the high commission was helping the Australians but said for privacy reasons it could not release any more information about them.
