A Queensland artist who painted an unflattering nude portrait of Donald Trump has allegedly been punched in the face by one of his supporters while walking down a Los Angeles street.

Ashley Gore, better known as Ill Magore, claims she was assaulted on Friday by a man who got out of his Black Honda Civic on La Cienega and yelled “Trump 2016” before striking her.

In an Instagram post accompany two photos of her badly bruised face, Ms Gore said although she encourages passion and opinion, especially through art, she condemns violence.

“To live in a place where Facebook has given my address to an anonymous third party makes me feel like I am homeless again,” the LA-based artist wrote.

“This type of violence makes creatives feel like we live in a world where our individual creative input isn’t safe.

“I’m sad that Trump, and many of his supporters, don’t find words enough to express their opinions – they need walls, waterboarding and punches.”

Ms Gore’s portrayal of a nude Trump with a diminished manhood has caused controversy.

The painting, titled ‘Make America Great Again’ is on display in a UK art gallery after it was censored in the US.
