Question time has been cancelled for the first parliamentary sitting day after the winter break.
The parliament resumes in Canberra on August 10 after a six-week break.
The first item of business in the House of Representatives at 10am will be the election of a Speaker, to replace Bronwyn Bishop who resigned on Sunday over the expenses scandal.

The House will then suspend briefly and resume to speak on a condolence motion for the late West Australian Liberal MP Don Randall.
After the condolence motion, as a mark of respect the House will suspend until 7pm when it will consider private members' business, before an adjournment debate at 9pm.
